Welcome
to the web site of Reese's Antiques, one of Philadelphia's oldest
family owned antiques businesses.
Established
in 1905 along Pine Street's Antique Row, we are one of the primary
sources in Philadelphia for fine quality furniture, porcelain,
paintings, silver, jewelry, pottery, clocks, and other decorative
accessories.
Through the decades, Reese's Antiques
has enjoyed an excellent reputation for serving the public and
furnishing the interiors of historical buildings, institutions,
and museums.
During the Calvin Coolidge Presidency
in the 1920's, my grandfather, a cabinet maker as well as antiques
dealer, constructed a Chippendale Secretary for the White House.
In 1960, my father and mother, antiques dealers and partners in
the business, before myself, sold a pair of 18th century andirons
to the curator appointed to refurnish Independence Hall. (I still
retain the purchase receipt from this transaction).
Reese's Antiques has also provided set
decorations for the theater and movies made in Philadelphia. I
am the third generation to own and operate Reese's Antiques. I
have been manager of the shop since 1971.
Thank you for visiting Reese's Antiques online.
Sincerely,
Dorrance
Reese
